Ronald Mennickent's research focusses on stellar variability at different stages of stellar evolution: He has published papers on cataclysmic variables and their accretion discs, supersoft X-ray sources, symbiotic stars, Be stars and their envelopes, variable stars in open clusters, variable stars in other galaxies and so on. His work primarily uses optical and infrared spectroscopy and imaging on several large telescopes. Ronald Mennickent obtained his Ph.D. in 1995 at the Universidad Católica, Chile. He joined the Universidad de Concepción in 1994. |
