INVESTIGACIÓN

El Departamento de Astronomía UdeC desarrolla una intensa labor científica. Sus profesores, postdoctorados y alumnos de doctorado están involucrados en una serie de proyectos científicos, que cubren una amplia variedad de áreas de la Astrofísica moderna.

El Departamento mantiene una alta productividad científica y publica alrededor de 50 artículos de investigación cada año en las más prestigiosas revistas internacionales de Astronomía y Astrofísica.

Líneas de investigación desarrolladas por miembros del Departamento de Astronomía de la Universidad de Concepción:

  • Formación y evolución de las galaxias.
  • Estudio de galaxias locales y de alto redshift.
  • Cúmulos de galaxias.
  • Galaxias activas.
  • Dinámica de galaxias elípticas.
  • Escala de distancias extragalácticas.
  • Poblaciones estelares.
  • Cúmulos de estrellas.
  • Evolución estelar.
  • Estrellas variables de diferentes tipos.
  • Planetas extrasolares.
  • Simulaciones numéricas de la estructura de galaxias enanas en el Grupo Local, entre otras.
