Brijesh
Kumar was part of the Astronomy Group at UdeC from March 2007 to February 2008.
During
this time he worked with Tom Richtler on using globular clusters to probe the
dark matter haloes in Elliptical Galaxies. His research interests
include photmetric and spectroscopic investigation of galactic and
extra-galactic star clusters. These objects serve as a tool to
understand the star formation processes, galactic disk structure and
the formation of galaxies. He has worked on site characterisation
and
development of astronomical facilities, CCD detectors and data
acquisuition systems. His observational interests relate to photometric
studies of transient phenomena such as GRBs and X-ray binaries.
