Aaron Romanowsky studies galaxies and stellar systems, both observationally and theoretically. His current main interest is the halos of elliptical galaxies, using dynamical models combined with data from planetary nebulae, globular clusters, and X-ray emitting gas. These tracers provide a new window into the formation history and mass content of these ancient systems -- recently resulting in the discovery of "naked galaxies". Dr. Romanowsky obtained his Ph.D. in 1999 at Harvard University, and joined U. de Concepción in 2004 as as a postdoctoral researcher.
